Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run

Travel Information

Trail runners and hikers from all over the world travel to experience this event. Historically, 28% of our participants come from outside the state of Texas! Whether you’re traveling a short distance or a far one, we encourage you to enjoy the local attractions and make a weekend stay of your race weekend.

Getting Here and Staying Here

This race takes place in Glen Rose, Texas, which is located approximately 1 hour southwest of Fort Worth, Texas or about 1 1/2 hours southwest of Dallas, Texas. The region of North Texas is served generally by multiple airlines through two major airports, and the town is accessible via rental car. We have both hotel and camping options available for area lodging.

Air Travel

The metroplex of Dallas-Fort Worth is served by two area airports:

  • DFW - Dallas-Fort Worth International - 82.8 miles, approx. 1 hr, 25 minutes in good traffic

  • DAL - Dallas Love Field - 86.0 miles, approx. 1 hr, 30 minutes in good traffic, the smaller airport that mostly serves Southwest Airlines.

Rental Cars and Ride-Share Info

A car will be needed to get around. There will be no shuttle service from the airports arranged, as we expect the vast majority of attendees to be locals or have rented a car for the trip from the airport. Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft are very expensive for the drive from the airports to the race site.

Those in the 100K and 100 Miler have access to a Facebook Group for preparing for the event, and they are encouraged to use this to coordinate carpooling!

Hotel Accommodations

We have a discounted block of rooms at our host hotel. You can call the hotel directly at 254-269-0999 and reference the race name, and they can get you set up now! There is no online booking link for the group block.

Looking to sleep under the stars and wake up where the dinosaurs once roamed? We’ve got three great camping options for race weekend, whether you’re pitching a tent in the trees, rolling in with your RV, or setting up base camp right at the Race Hub.

For Triceratops Sites and Pachy Group Sites, RESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE BEFORE THEY SELL OUT. Reservation deadline is November 7. After that, email the race at info@dinosaurvalleytrailrun.com to see if any extra spots have come available.

Read on for information about Option 1 (Triceratops Sites), Option 2 (Pachy Group Camp), and Option 3 (Veloci-Van Sites). If you wish to car camp at the Race Hub Friday or Saturday night, you are welcome to do so for free. No car camping available Sunday night.
