50K, 25K, and 5 Mile finishers will receive a quality wooden finisher medal. 100K and 100 mile finishers receive a distance-specific belt buckle. There is a different belt buckle for 100 milers who finish in under 24 hours.

​Buckles are guaranteed on race day for any 100K or 100 mile participants signed up by September 1 who finishes their race.

For later entrants in the 100K or 100M: Buckles are ordered months in advance. There is a possibility that with a high finish rate, you may not be able to take home a buckle ON RACE DAY. One will be made available for pictures, and then a buckle will be mailed to you about a month after the race if this occurs (once more buckles are produced). The race will take on the cost of mailing you your buckle in this instance. No matter what, whether it's race day or later, you will receive a buckle for finishing the 100K or 100 miler.
Different Belt Buckle Offerings
We have 3 different belt buckle styles available this year! We have a new buckle design this year, we have the original "OG" buckle from all past years, and we have a special, upgraded silver-plated buckle available too!
New Buckle for 2024
We designed a new buckle this year to celebrate becoming a Western States qualifying race and as a thank you to all our lovely finishers who have come back year after year and have multiple of the original "OG" buckle design! Since we still have some original "OG" buckles, preference for these newer buckles will be given to those who have already earned one of those to get these newer buckles, so some first time finisher buckle recipients will get the original "OG" buckle.

This is the buckle that we have had since 2017.
Upgraded Silver-Plated Finisher Buckle
The standard buckles are beautiful, but for those who want an upgraded buckle, we offer this handcrafted buckle! This is a silver plated buckle that has the race logo in the center. The buckle measures 3" inches tall by 4" inches wide. The back of the buckle has a hook for your belt hole. It also has a swivel bar to attach to your belt.
This buckle will be reserved with your name on it for TWO YEARS from when you pay for it. Read more and order here by August 1!
Awards

Overall placement and awards will be based on gun time for results.

100 mile runners with completed 100K distance will appear in 100K race results and be eligible for 100K awards as well.
- You are only eligible for an award if you complete the course as it is laid out in the order it is meant to be completed. ​​
- For race distances held both days (50K, 25K, and 5 Mile), awards and placement will be determined after all race results are consolidated. Therefore, no awards will be handed out at the race for those distances. I will strive to mail all awards within 15 days of the race finish.

Top 3 Overall Male, Female, and Non-Binary*

For the 100 Mile and 100K (larger events): 1st and 2nd place male and female in the following age groups: 00-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-99.

For the 50K, 25K, 5M (smaller events): 1st place male and female in the following age groups: 00-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-99.

There is no prize money. Awards for The Active Joe races are small and will travel well in checked or carry-on luggage.
